Ikwuta Luke Adah

Ikwuta Luke Adah is a trained Accountant by profession. He currently holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from the University of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State, also a Postgraduate Professional Diploma (PGPD) in Accounting from the College of Accountancy, Jos, Plateau State and at an earlier time obtained a National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting respectively from Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, Benue State.

He is a Certified National Accountant, a member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), with membership registration number 7130.

He has over Fifteen (15) years working experience in grants receipt and management. After the mandatory National Youths Service (NYSC) with Calabar Export Processing Zone, Calabar, Cross-River State, He was fortunate to gain employment with a chartered accounting firm in Abuja. He reiterated his firm believes in taking advantage of new challenges to improve on ones skills. For this reason, he did not take the chance offered him to work with Paul Erato Chartered Accountant/Tax Consultant, Abuja for granted. He seized that opportunity to know more about the financial books. He supervised the accounts of clients, maintained and up-dated other financial records of both the firm and its clients.

Between 1998-1999, He was offered another chance as Roving Executive Officer, Accounts (REO, Accounts) with Empire Group Ltd, Makurdi, Benue State; a Zonal Fund Management Consultant of the Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund (PTF). While there, He was assigned the responsibility of auditing the accounts of designated intervention hospitals and primary health care centers (PHC). He confirms whether or not such health institutions have exhausted their stock to recommend them for more supplies of drugs.

He has served as Finance Associate/Site Accountant with Halt AIDS, a reputable Non-governmental organization in the area of Reproductive Health (RH) including HIV/AIDS, a MacArthur foundation and USAID funded Harvard PEPFAR Program from April 2, 2001 to March 31, 2009.

In April 2009, He joined Pro-Health International as Finance Officer, also a PEPFAR/USAID funded HIV/AIDS Reduction in the Niger Delta (HARPIN) Project at the Calabar field office, Cross River State with its regional office in Por-tHarcourt, Rivers State and Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, the position he held till the end of the project year in May 31, 2012.

Ikwuta Luke Adah was employed as Senior Accountant from June 15, 2013 with Netherlands Leprosy Relief (NLR), Nigeria, a Dutch Non-governmental organization focusing on Leprosy & TB control and rehabilitation of ex-leprosy patients in community based rehabilitation initiatives and programmes working in thirteen (13) states of the North with its Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, funded by the Netherlands Leprosy Relief Amsterdam, the Global fund (through ARFH/ IHVN separately), KNCV/TB CARE 1, and Light for the World (LFTW).

He is presently serving as Senior Accountant after a successful transition from Netherlands Leprosy Relief (NLR) to Leprosy And Tuberculosis Relief Initiative, Nigeria (LTR) in April 2018, a national Non-governmental organization funded by the Global fund (through ARFH & IHVN), and currently Global fund Public-Private-Mix (PPM) grant with Institute of Human Virology of Nigeria (IHVN) as the Principal Recipient.

His job description summary includes but responsible for the organization’s liquid cash safe keep, disbursements to states, review of partner’s retirements/liquidation & reconciliation of projects bank accounts, document management and the daily finance unit operations ensuring compliance and in accordance with the contractual requirements of funders with the sole objective of providing professional accountancy services consistent with generally accepted accounting principles, financial policies and procedures, other applicable laws, rules and guidelines.
